Safeguard Dogs and Cats During Freezing Weather

Every year, PETA receives numerous complaints about animals who are left outside in the cold. Although they are equipped with fur coats, dogs, cats, and other animals can still suffer from frostbite and exposure, and they can become dehydrated when water sources freeze. Cold weather spells extra hardship for "backyard" dogs, who often go without adequate food, water, shelter, or veterinary care.

PETA has relaunched an award-winning 30-second PSA to help warn people against leaving animals outside in freezing temperatures. Country music icon Loretta Lynn donated her classic song "I Wanna Be Free" to PETA for the PSA, which reminds everyone that "life on a chain is no life at all." The PSA features an adorable dog named Chauncey and encourages viewers to "bring your dog inside."

With much of the country experiencing record-breaking cold temperatures already this year, this message has never been more important. Order this PSA today to help animals in your community.
